Last week, Archdeacon Simon shared our bold vision for the future, driven by our bid for SMMIB funding. Our goal is to support our diocese through growth, focusing on:
- Introducing people to Jesus
- Deepening discipleship
- Developing Christian leaders
- Working for justice
This vision requires us to invest in our people and provide the support they need. Our plan focuses on four key areas:
1. Investing in New Roles We aim to create roles that directly or indirectly support our mission, with a special focus on the 0-18+ strategy. This includes planting new worshipping communities in schools and developing youth leaders.
2. Learning and Development Strategy We plan to provide training and create a “Rector Ready” pathway to help our leaders grow and excel in their roles.
3. Building a Culture of Development and Accountability We want all clergy and Local Missional Leaders to have personal development plans, ensuring they are well-equipped for their mission.
4. Supporting Frontline Ministry We’ll provide resources to lift administrative burdens from clergy, enabling them to focus on their calling.
We know we can’t ask people to do mission if we don’t equip them well for that mission. Our proposals would deliver unprecedented levels of support. We want to support our people and our parishes with the right level of accountability and challenge to enable us all to deliver this ambitious plan.
