This is a holding page for the Larger Single Parish (LSP) in Sefton now named ‘Christ the River of Life’ Parish. Through the Fit for Mission process, 8 churches across two deaneries are joining together to form one LSP, which will allow for a stronger community across the churches, centralise governance locally and reach more people missionally.

As we move further into this transition process, parish branding & new website will be developed during the next few months, where you can find everything, you need to know about your parish. Details of events happening across the parish can be viewed below.

As a diocese, we’re asking God for a bigger church to make a bigger difference, and we believe that Fit for Mission is the discerned path to achieve this. In these two years of ‘acting as if’, we will prayerfully work towards building our own locally formed larger single parish that reflects the needs, passions and people of Sefton N&S.

A navigation team was formed in January who oversee all the documentation being made and help form the new parish. They are a group of lay people from across the LSP who meet once a week to discuss the parish and make decisions through prayer, compassion and personal insight. Their current focus is solidifying the vision of the new parish. The Clergy Leadership Team (CLT) formed of clergy across the LSP, meet weekly and work together to plan mission and oversee the parish. Teams from across the 8 churches have started to meet including buildings, communications, treasurers, wardens, safeguarding officers and support services due to form shortly.

There’s so much happening in Christ the River of Life Parish. Check out its events below.
