We’re delighted to announce that new recruitment dates have been added for the Diocese of Liverpool’s Freedom Ambassadors network.
If you’ve ever wondered how you could help tackle modern slavery, trafficking and exploitation in your local community, this could be your opportunity to get involved.
Freedom Ambassadors are a growing network of people across our churches and worshipping communities who want to help build a fairer and more just society. You don’t need to be an expert, and the commitment is flexible and voluntary. We’ll provide the training, resources and support you need to make a difference.
As a Freedom Ambassador, you will:
- Receive free training to help you understand modern slavery, trafficking and exploitation.
- Learn to spot the signs of modern slavery and know where and how to report concerns.
- Raise awareness in your church and community, with support to run occasional activities or events.
- Share useful information and resources through church newsletters, leaflets, posters and other communications.
- Be part of a wider campaign to raise awareness of modern slavery across the Diocese.
- Help shape our work as we develop our response together, in partnership with churches and worshipping communities.
- Most importantly, help make a difference in the fight against slavery, trafficking and exploitation in your community.
You may be asking yourself: Could I really make a difference?
The answer is yes.
Sometimes, simply knowing what to look for, understanding how to respond, or helping someone else recognise the signs can be an important first step towards protecting vulnerable people.
