Eco Church Celebrates 10 Years with Milestone Event

Posted on

This autumn, churches from across the North West are invited to gather in Liverpool for a special celebration marking a decade of the Eco Church movement.

On Saturday 3 October 2026, join us for an afternoon of worship, conversation and celebration as part of the national 10-year anniversary of Eco Church. Whether your church is just beginning its creation care journey or has been involved for years, everyone is warmly invited to take part.

Eco Church is the national award scheme developed by A Rocha UK to help churches put their faith into action by caring for creation.

Through practical resources and guidance, churches are supported in five key areas of church life, helping congregations of every denomination demonstrate that the Gospel is good news for God’s earth. From worship and teaching to land management, buildings, community engagement and lifestyle, Eco Church equips churches to make meaningful, lasting environmental change.

The celebration begins at 1.00pm with an ecumenical service, followed by a panel discussion reflecting on 10 years of Eco Church and looking ahead to the future of creation care.

Hosted by Christ Church Toxteth Park, a Gold Eco Church in the Diocese of Liverpool, the event will also include refreshments, information stalls and opportunities to meet others, share ideas and hear inspiring stories from churches across the region. Gold is the highest Eco Church award, recognising churches that have embedded care for creation across all areas of church life, from worship and teaching to practical environmental action and community engagement.

Everyone is welcome to attend all or part of the event. Admission is free, but advance booking is encouraged to help organisers plan refreshments.

The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re curious about Eco Church, looking for inspiration, or keen to celebrate 10 years of creation care, we’d love to see you there.
