This Volunteers’ Week, we celebrate and thank the inspiring volunteers who work tirelessly across our Diocese.
From introducing people to Jesus and helping with music and choirs, to serving on church committees and supporting social and pastoral care, our volunteers truly are an expression of God’s love.
The Volunteers Behind the Diocese of Liverpool
Volunteers are an essential part of the success of our mission and ministry in churches. Their dedication, skills and commitment help churches serve their communities in meaningful and practical ways.
From welcoming people to services and supporting worship, to running community projects, foodbanks, youth activities, and pastoral care initiatives, volunteers play a vital role in sharing God’s love and building stronger, more connected communities. They bring an energy that enables churches to serve the needs of people of all ages and backgrounds.
Every volunteer plays an important role in the life of the Diocese, and their service is a valuable expression of faith in action.
Thank you
To every volunteer – thank you. Thank you for your time, your effort, your care, your knowledge and your dedication to the Diocese.
Celebrating Volunteers’ Week, Rt Revd Ruth Worsley, Interim Bishop of Liverpool, said:
“During Volunteers Week, I want to offer my heartfelt thanks and prayers to all those who give their time and energy to others across our Diocese. Your kindness and generosity make a huge impact in our churches, schools and communities. You truly are an expression of God’s love. Thank you!”
Supporting the Diocese
The Diocese relies on volunteers across its congregations.
Volunteers help us:
- Share the Gospel and help spread the teachings of Jesus
- Help young people grow in their faith
- Support activities that connect the Church with the wider community
- Support our mission of being a bigger church that makes a bigger difference
Their contribution helps ensure the Church continues to serve others and share God’s love.
