Liverpool Diocese launches a new website

Posted on

After a summer of hard work we have relaunched a new look website at www.liverpoolcofe.org. The site has got many improvements to the operational end and users will see that we have designed it to match Liverpool Cathedral’s popular site. This includes a drop-down menu for quick navigation and a much-improved search facility. Beyond that we have mirrored the pre-existing site in terms of its structure.

However, the eagle eyed will notice that we have a new web address www.liverpoolcofe.org. We know this will mean that your bookmarked pages and links to the previous web domain will no longer work. It will also include any pages that you link to from your website or  A Church Near You pages.

One critical redirection you may need to do is from liverpool.anglican.org/safeguarding to liverpoolcofe.org/safeguarding-matters/ .

Email addresses are not affected by this so people still need to email xxx.xxx@liverpool.anglican.org

If you see a broken link/problem then email communications@liverpool.anglican.org and we will fix it.

We didn’t want to launch like this but sadly after a week of trying to get the site live on the anglican.org domain we decided to move the site to a new domain. Had we not encountered this difficulty and a week of downtime we would have stayed on our previous site.

So we are sorry that we have not been able to give more notice on this change however we felt the most important thing was to get the site up and running again.

We will all need to adjust but this will settle down and I am sure you will agree that we have a strong, navigable and well-designed website to take us into the future.
