At St Oswald’s Church on 18 April, the Sefton North & South Fit for Mission journey reached an important early milestone with its First Right Buildings (RB) team meeting.
Led by Craig Walker, the session introduced the RB process and began the recruitment of around six volunteers to form the local team. Once established, the team will visit churches across the Larger Single Parish (LSP), helping to build a clear and informed picture of the buildings in their area.
The meeting also recognised the reality that conversations around buildings can bring understandable anxiety at the start of the LSP process. To support this, members of existing RB teams from Wigan and Toxteth and Wavertree shared their experiences, offering reassurance and insight into the value of being involved.
Those attending had the opportunity to ask questions, not only to diocesan staff but also to those who have already taken part in the process, helping to build confidence and a sense of shared purpose as Sefton North & South moves forward in its Fit for Mission journey.
