Brenda Williams Presented her Maundy Money by Bishop Ruth

Posted on

Earlier this year, Brenda Williams – former Church warden, Scout Leader,  Apple Trust Founding Trustee, Mothers Union leader, staff member at a Liverpool Cathedral and much more, should have received Maundy Money from King Charles in a special ceremony at Durham Cathedral.

Sadly, her son Jonathan died just days before the service and just months after her husband Trevors passing a few months earlier.

Today, on behalf of King Charles as requested by The Royal High Almoner, Bishop Ruth prayed parts of the special Maundy Thursday service with Brenda and her family. In a beautiful, intimate gathering at Bishops Lodge Brenda shared memories and those present were privileged to sit in on the most lovely appreciation of Brenda’s lifetime of service, with afternoon tea also celebrating her 90th birthday on 30th November (Advent Sunday)
