Local Photographer Revd Janet Heighton, Vicar of All Saints Rainford, has achieved the
distinction of becoming a ‘Qualified’ member of the Guild of Photographers, the highly
regarded national photographic body whose members are committed to achieving the
highest standards of professionalism for the benefit of their customers.
Becoming ‘Qualified’ with the Guild involves a rigorous assessment process, and Revd Janet
is now one of only around 350 people in the Country to hold this recognition!
Steven and Lesley Thirsk (the Directors of the Guild) said – “We are delighted that Janet has
achieved Qualified status. The Guild has very demanding standards, so this achievement
reflects Janet’s commitment to her photography, as well as her ability. The judging is
undertaken by a panel of industry experts from a variety of photography backgrounds, so
Janet should be very proud of this recognition”.
Revd Janet said “I am delighted to have achieved this recognition. Photography is in my blood
as my father was an award-winning press photographer in the 1950s and 60s, and I see this
as a tribute to him. It reflects many years of learning, practice and hard work.
Photography is both a personal passion and something that is part of my ministry. I am
especially drawn to the connection between photography and spirituality through mindful
photography, helping people to slow down, notice more deeply, and encounter something of
God in the world around them.”
The Guild website (www.photoguild.co.uk) lists members throughout the country who uphold
these high standards, along with advice on how to choose a photographer that will meet your
needs.
