Following the attack in Golders Green, the Interim Bishop of Liverpool, the Bishop of Warrington, and the Dean of Liverpool, issued a message expressing their solidarity with the Jewish community:
“We are deeply saddened and troubled by the antisemitic violence that took place last week in Golders Green. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this tragic event.
“We are all too familiar with acts of heartbreaking violence across our own region. Sadly, this is the latest in a troubling series of attacks on the Jewish community in London in recent months. We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community here in the Diocese of Liverpool, London and across the UK, and we unequivocally reject antisemitism in all its forms.
“We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that everyone can practise their faith freely, safely and without fear of violence. We stand together against all forms of hatred and prejudice, and we deeply value the friendships with our Jewish brothers and sisters across our region, which we also share with those of all faiths.”
The Rt Reverend Ruth Worsley, Interim Bishop of Liverpool
The Rt Reverend Simon Robinson, Bishop of Warrington
The Very Reverend Dr Sue Jones, Dean of Liverpool
