St Cleopas recently held an All Ages Service bring people of all different ages and demographics together in church to worship as one. The day saw various readings, performances and songs delivered by numerous people from all different age groups from the local community.
Reflecting upon the All Ages Service, Rev Sian Gasson said:
‘I thought it was amazing to see all the children and young people taking part in whatever way they wanted to: leading, speaking, puppets, prayers and sitting on the stage pulling faces! The next time they do it, they will have even more confidence. And as for Little Liz, Sheila, Ian and Sian, I dread to think what the future holds for them! It couldn’t have happened, though, without the hard work and dedication of our Junior Church leaders, so a big thank you to Michelle, Jen and Anna, and all the parents for getting their children there in time. It was a good, if a bit long, reading for All Age Worship, but it was easy enough to make into a shared reading. I have to say, Halle and Hope were hilarious as Little Liz and Little Sheila, interviewing Nicodemus, and as for Frank, or should I say “George Clooney”, he was, as always, brilliantly understated. Bobby was a star as Little Ian, next time, we must add the tea and coffee to his repertoire! As for Evie as Little Sian, I can see her winning everyone over, totally unscripted. Roll on next time.’
The day was a great opportunity to introduce young people to Jesus and get more people into churches from all different age groups.
