On Saturday 7th March, over 90 people gathered at Christ Church Aughton for Evangelism North – a day designed to encourage and equip both lay and ordained leaders in sharing the Gospel.

The event was aimed at those already involved in evangelism who wanted to deepen their understanding and develop their confidence in sharing their faith. Those attending came with different levels of experience, but everyone left having received inspiration, encouragement and practical ideas to support their ministry.

While the day was particularly helpful for those with some experience of evangelism, it was also open to anyone who wanted to begin exploring how they might share their faith with others.

The event was led by the Revd Sweetline Burnell, the Revd Robin Gamble and the Revd Neil Short, who offered teaching and discussion around four key areas:

  • Scattering Seed
  • One-to-one evangelism
  • Running an effective enquirers’ course
  • Planning an evangelistic service or event

All third-year curates from across the diocese also attended as part of their ongoing training.

One attendee reflected on the impact of the day, saying: “The day was perfect for our team. It was uplifting, accessible and just what we needed.”
