The Eco Agency at St Mary & St Paul’s CE Primary School was set up last year to allow the pupils to tackle issues around the school and local community. The response from the children was overwhelming and they have Eco Agency members in every year group from 1-6. The demand was that great that they even had to start an interview process for new members when year 6 left!
They’ve joined in with Knowsley Council’s Environment Action Day where staff from the council work with the children in litter picking an area. On the action day, they cleaned up a large field which is next to the school, they also cleaned the school grounds.
The school has their own special Eco Agency hi-viz jackets to spread the word!
They have now started a fortnightly litter pick around school with each year group allocated a space. They now have plans to work with their local ranger in the parks on litter picking and other environmental activities too!
