The Diocese of Liverpool strongly believes in the importance of young people in the church and recognises the significance of welcome, nurture and discipleship in helping children and young people develop a positive experience of church.
We are passionate about offering opportunities for young people to experience God’s love and encounter Jesus, to enable a ‘bigger church to make a bigger difference’
We are committed to creating safe and enabling environments and to offering support and encouragement to all those working with children, young people and their families, also to those wishing to start new ministries and missional opportunities.
Growing Faith Adventure
The Church of England growing faith adventure provides an opportunity to make all our decisions through the lens of what this means for Children, Young People and Families. This enables flourishing relationships between church, school and home.
Who is who in the Youth and Children’s Team
Kate Eaglestone, Strategy Lead for Youth and Children:
I’m Kate, I’m married to Liam and we have four adult children. I am an extrovert and love spending time with people. I bake bread most days, I love chocolate cake, margarita pizzas and roast dinners (though not all at the same time!) and I enjoy anything creative like pottery, sewing, painting etc. I have been in church leadership for the past 25 years and I am passionate about children and young people knowing Jesus!
Dan Latham, Diocesan Youth Lead:
Hello, I’m Dan! When I’m not working on exciting youth projects for the diocese you’ll probably catch me drinking speciality coffee, talking about a good film I watched at the weekend or caring about Liverpool FC’s title hopes far too much. At the moment I’m really inspired by this story from the Bible – ‘Feeding the 5000’ because Jesus can make miracles from the little we have to offer!
Clare Bedford, Diocesan Lead for School-Based Worship Communities:
Hi! I’m Clare. I’m at my most happiest when I’m surrounded by plants and flowers in my garden, or watching a good movie, especially quirky foreign ones, and when I’m cooking for others! I’d love for people to know that God’s table welcomes everyone, he has a place set for us – no matter your age or background – and absolutely everyone is invited to join in.
Yana Rusina, 0-18s Project Assistant:
Hi! I’m Yana. I enjoy simple things like good books, being creative, and travelling when I can. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories – it’s a reminder of how unique and amazing everyone’s journey is. I believe we all have a little light to share with the world.
